A very nice and peaceful setting. The log cabins are cosy. An ideal spot to go touring the area. Mr A, Wokingham, Berkshire 31 March 2011
This Park is situated in beautiful English scenery, near magnificent Parks like Clumber Park, Rufford Park and Sherwood Forest and all those little English villages and towns. Mr S, Zwijndrecht, Holland 28 March 2011
Our boys, who are 2 and 4 loved this holiday. They loved playing in the forest more than anything and loved the tree house/slide. The indoor kid's facilities were brilliant for their age, plenty for them to do. The animal corner was nice for them to visit. Mrs B, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire 26 March 2011
Fantastic location, excellent value for money compared to Center Parcs! Perfect for our dog and 2 year old. Would definitely return and recommend. Miss Y, Loughborough, Leicestershire 23 March 2011
The holiday was great value, in a fantastic location and we had a great time. We're already looking at booking another holiday there! Miss H, Altrincham, Cheshire 23 March 2011
Very quiet and clean and plenty of space for the children to explore. Mrs S, SHEFFIELD 23 March 2011
I have already recommended this place to all my friends. It is out of the way, you don't have the stresses of inner city (car parks and hundreds of people) Miss M, Barnsley, South Yorkshire 16 March 2011
Excellent family park. Ideal for our two small boys! Mrs K, Stockton-on-tees, Cleveland 08 March 2011
Very relaxing break with family and friends. Weather awful but snuggled up around the log burner and chilled out. Mrs M, Canterbury, Kent 01 March 2011
Excellent family holiday with enough to do, we never had to leave the park. Mr E, Chesterfield, Derbyshire 27 February 2011
A very friendly welcoming park with excellent staff and facilities. Family and dog friendly, great location with lots of great attractions for all ages. Peaceful at night with only the odd car of other guests passing. Highly recommended. Mr R, Burford, Oxfordshire 22 February 2011
We stayed here last year for 4 nights and booked again this year. The log cabins are very warm and welcoming. We chose to stay in a log cabin with central heating as we didn't think the one's with open fire would be suitable for our toddler and baby. We had a very good time. The staff are friendly and we found the swimming pool is quite small but is perfect for our toddler. Overall, a great place to visit with a young family! Mrs W, MANCHESTER 19 February 2011
The site isn't a place if you want to go to a pub every night, amusement arcades and shops. It's in the forest so it's a place for more active ventures. The views and walks were fantastic, it's across the road from Rufford Park and the site grounds that are all brilliant for exploring. Fantastic Mrs H, Sheffield, South Yorkshire 19 February 2011
We have just come back from a lovely break here and would have happily stayed longer. It is so peaceful and the cabins are fabulous! I would recommend this place to others and will definitely return. Mrs L, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire 02 February 2011
Sherwood Castle Holiday Cabins were excellent - friendly staff and comfortable cabins in a beautiful location with lots to do. The swimming pool was clean and pleasant, there were animals to pet, mini golf and badminton. The facilities were plain but good, and the staff were knowledgeable without being intrusive. We came as a large party of adults, but I will return soon with the children. Miss M, Luton, Bedfordshire 27 January 2011
All the staff were polite and very helpful throughout or stay. The location was great, lots to do in the local area, very dog friendly. The cabins were beautiful and a log fire is a must. We will be making a return visit next year. Thanks everyone for making our new year a great one! Miss H, Dukinfield, Cheshire 04 January 2011
As a single mother of a three year old boy I was a little apprehensive about the trip but when I got there all the staff were very helpful and efficient. I felt safe and at ease being on my own. My boy really enjoyed it and it was a real adventure for us. I would recommend it for any single parents and also as a family. We ventured out to White Post Farm and also Rufford Park. Ms Lee, Rotherham. Mrs L, Rotherham, South Yorkshire 23 November 2010
What a lovely site. Very quiet and extremely clean and well laid out. Sports hall facilities and pool were also great as was the archery lesson. We enjoyed the woodland walks and tranquillity and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great if you don't want crowds and on site entertainment - it was blissful and we would love to return, great value for money too. Mrs Y, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire 18 November 2010

Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday - comfortable accommodation, very clean too! Beautiful surrrounding area for walking around! Mr F, Northampton, Northamptonshire 19 June 2010
I would highly recommend this holiday to those with kids who like activity. There are woodland trails, adventure play areas (indoor and out, so whatever the weather, lots to keep you occupied), crazy golf, tennis, badminton, toddler's play area, swimming pool, pool table, air hockey, zip wire, and loads more. It's walking distance to Rufford Mill, lake and Rufford Abbey, with all its grounds and play areas, which made for a great leisurely day out for the whole family. Plenty to do in the near vicinity. All in all, an excellent holiday. Thanks Hoseasons! Mrs P, Leicester, Leicestershire 09 June 2010
We have just been for a second time and will go again. This is a great place if you just want to enjoy being with your family and have peace and quiet at night! Riding bikes, swimming, walking, indoor and outdoor games, animal corner and much more. Rufford Mill Country Park is a 5 minutes walk and is great. Mrs P, Littleborough, Lancashire 07 June 2010
A great concept, perfectly implemented. Wish I'd known about it when my children were younger - the way the Robin Hood theme was carried through in the main reception and in the forest itself would capture any young child's imagination. I took my 13 year old son and his 14 year old friend and they happily entertained themselves within the park, plus there were lots of great places to take them to nearby. For my part, I loved the walks with my dog and felt so safe walking around the forest, even at 10pm at night, which is extraordinary. It was wonderful value, very friendly and welcoming and a great place for families of all ages. Couldn't fault it! Mrs G, Tring, Hertfordshire 06 June 2010
Sherwood Castle was in a perfect location. A 2 minute walk to Rufford Mill and Abbey - beautiful in the sun. Accommodation was excellent and very clean. If anyone loves Robin Hood - this is the place to go! Miss C, ROCHESTER, Kent 27 May 2010
I have already recommended this holiday site to friends. On arrival the receptionist were more than helpful and was throughout our stay. Brigette, one of the receptionists went out of her way to be helpful on many occasions. The site is clean, there is plenty to do if you want the kids to be kept busy or you can just relax as the area is so peaceful. There is a lake within a 5 minute walk if the site which is lovely. We will return here. Thank you to all the staff for such a warm welcome and a pleasant stay. Miss L, Goole, North Humberside 19 May 2010
We had a brilliant time here, it was quiet and very welcoming. It was 3 of us, my partner, our daughter and me and we are definitely coming back soon and will bring our friends as we want them to experience it as well. I am sure they will love it as much as we did. Thank you to everyone there for making us feel so welcome. Mr G, Telford, Shropshire 16 May 2010
I would recommend this holiday to anyone that wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's the perfect location to relax and be at one with nature. Mrs A, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire 14 May 2010
As someone that lives in Nottingham and only 40 minuets from Sherwood Castle we enjoyed our weekend. It was like being in a different county, so peaceful and for us a great place for a family get together for the wedding. This was an idea that more people should try, no having to squeeze every one into your home. There where 30 of us in 4 cabins, we all had so much fun catching up, a good central location for lots of things to do. Mrs G, NOTTINGHAM 27 April 2010

This is our second visit to Sherwood Castle and it was bliss. We had a lovely relaxing week, the children could play safely aroung our cabin buiding dens and exploring. It is well located to many places we visited Nottingham and Newark and a short walk away was Rufford country park which is gorgeous. The onsite facilities are cheap and really good, we played tennis, badmington, pool, crazy golf and went swimming. The cabins are clean and well equipped we cooked a few days and had everything we needed. Will definitely return. Mrs T, DARLINGTON, County Durham 14 April 2010
Site lovely quite and small, lodges nice but living area could do with being a bit bigger, enjoyed exploring the area (by car) lots of country parks in the area, but thought ideal when weather is good but if raining very little to do. Mrs C, Manchester, Lancashire 13 April 2010
I would definitely recommend Sherwood Castle Forest Park as we had a very enjoyable holiday. We took our son who is 7 and he thoroughly enjoyed himself with all the activities offered such as; archery, badminton and swimming. We would love to go back and take the children another weekend. Mrs O, BIRMINGHAM, West Midlands 09 March 2010
Our stay at Sherwood Castle was really great. It was ideal for families and we took our dog too. There was enough to do, and it even kept our 12 and 10 year old kids happy! We had a go at archery and loved it, the instructor was experienced and friendly and made it great fun. The park had just enough to do, and because it catered to families mostly there was a friendly and safe atmosphere. The forest and nearby attractions were ideal for a great family getaway - we have already booked to go back! Mrs H, OLDHAM, Lancashire 09 March 2010

We even played ourselves whilst kids were on the indoor play area. Very welcoming site and more than enough to keep the kids occupied indoors and outdoors. The woodland area is a definite must to explore as Robin Hood displays everywhere in the Forest which we didn't know about until we actually walked through the woods and came across them. We had a fantastic time at Sherwood Castle. The log cabin was immaculately clean, spacious and had a warm, homely feel. Everywhere on the park was very clean and well kept and the staff were all extremely friendly, kind and helpful. My 9 year old niece loved every minute, we visited the animal corner and the indoor games facilities every day. The price of the holiday and on site activities was exceptional value for money and does not reflect the quality of the park. Should you wish to venture outside there are beautiful forest parks within a few minutes drive. We can't wait to come again and will recommend it to everybody! Book up now!!! Mrs S, Solihull, West Midlands 20 July 2009

I would recomend for anyone to stay at the Sherwood Forest Castle Lodges as you get exactly what you expect. Rustic charm with the log burner and decor but still comfortable. The perfect location for Rufford Abbey or Nottingham for shopping. We got the swinmming pool to ourselves for an hour for £20 - our four year old boy and us will be going back next year for sure! A great Easter holiday which was very relaxing. We were extremely lucky with the weather and enjoyed a sunny week, which obviously made it easy for us to keep the children (aged 5 and 3) entertained in the forest. They thoroughly enjoyed their evening walks to collect wood for the fire, and when we suggested venturing further afield to explore, they were adamant that they would rather stay on site! Mrs L, CHELMSFORD 18 June 2009
Perfect for peace and quiet! Mrs T, derby, derbyshire 18 June 2009
A fraction of the cost of a Centre Parc's holiday, with practically all the benefits! Mrs L, FLEET 16 June 2009

It feels very safe and secluded and there is no problem allowing your children to play freely, as you do not feel worried for their safety in any way. I am sure we will come again in the future. Mrs P, WARRINGTON 06 June 2009

Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest was a great place to stay with plenty of attractions to visit in the area (even in February). We stayed in a Sylvan Lodge which was very cosy once we'd got the log burning stove going - rather than being an inconvenience it made the holiday more fun for our 6 year old daughter who loved the place. Recommended! Mrs W, Bury, Manchester 17 February 2009
Warm, comfortable, peaceful and restful - what more could we want? Mrs W, Darlington, County Durham 17 February 2009
We would recommend Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest anytime. It is in a gorgeous setting with comfortable funiture and beautiful log cabins. It has lovely walks, and a small petting zoo with lots of other things to do such as archery and the swimming pool. Everything is a very reasonable price and the location is great. It is fantastic for a relaxing holiday but we never wanted it to end. Rufford Mill is very nearby (less than 5 minutes) with two tearooms and a restaurant (carvery on Sundays). The tearoom near the abbey does a fantastic fry up, hot chocolate and cakes. Do not hesitate to book this place it was clean and comfortable and the staff are the friendliest people ever! Sherwood Castle Park was fantastic - a quiet location in the woodland perfect for escaping from it all. We went as a couple for a bit of chill out time and that is exactly what we got. Fabulous woodland to walk in, a short drive from Sherwood Forest visitor centre, and the totally fabulous Rufford Mill Country Park virtually on the doorstep - a visit here is a must for anyone! The accommodation was faultless, everything you needed was there, the facilites were excellent and we made good use of the badminton court and swimming pool. The log burner in the cabin was the highlight for us, snuggling up to a roaring fire after a days walk in the woods was just great!!
